NO CLEATS allowed in indoor gyms. Please have your player wear flat-soled shoes/sneakers and shin guards and bring a ball and water.

About GFR's PTA program...
Led by experienced Travel coaches, the Pre-Travel Academy (PTA) is a full-year program (Fall & Spring) specifically designed for U7 & U8 players who are looking to take their game to the next level. GFR's PTA focuses on preparing these young athletes with the tools they need to transition to U9 Travel soccer, by recreating game like situations in a smaller format (5v5). With fewer players, we can put players in an environment that creates more touches on the ball, focuses on using skill, and applying the fundamentals of the game. Our professional coaching staff will apply age-appropriate activities to foster their growth in a fun and challenging setting.

Goals:
*Improve individual footskills
*Improve 1v1 attacking/defending
*Understanding when to dribble or pass
*Develop passion for the game

Players can choose between full and part-time PTA during registration:

During the fall and spring seasons, the full-time PTA pools will train 2x week and will play against other clubs on the weekends.

The part-time PTA pool is encouraged to participate in GFR's House League in addition to the Pre-Travel program. The part-time PTA pool will train 1x week with their PTA pool and play 2 to 3 PTA games against other clubs over the course of the season.

Equipment: size 3 ball, shin guards, cleats, and 2023/24 PTA Kit – (2) jerseys, (2) shorts, (2) socks (additional cost)

Cost: $700 for full-time PTA (fall and spring)
$375 for part-time PTA (fall and spring)
(Payment plans are available, and financial assistance is offered to those families that qualify.)

*HOW IT WORKS* Parents will complete the *FREE* registration for tryouts which will take place in July/August (dates shown above). All players who wish to be considered for the program MUST attend at least one tryout session. After tryouts, those players who are selected for the program will receive an invitation to join and pay the fees. The PTA program will run Fall 2024 and Spring 2025; for those in the Fall program, there will be no need to try out again for Spring. Any players wishing to join for Spring will need to attend a tryout in February and pay a prorated Spring-only fee, if accepted to the program.
