Community

As part of personal growth regardless of where talents take a player, we believe it is important to have a connection with and give back to the community. Each team within the GFR Elite Academy will dedicate certain number of hours to the community. Community service will be performed as a team. Shared community service experiences contribute to community consciousness, personal connections among players, and positive team culture. U13 - U14 Teams will give 10 hours. U15 – U18 Teams will give 15 hours.

SERVICE ABROAD

Club players, families, or teams will have the opportunity to travel outside of the country to Africa, South America, or Europe to volunteer their time in developing nations as well as take in the culture. Trips will be organized and announced by GFR and its travel partners.

The Club is in the process of working with our sponsors in setting up a scholarship fund to help supplement or pay for trips for need based members of our clubs. When dates and opportunities for such trips are arranged, they will be announced, and players/families can submit request via email about their interest.

Currently we are working with Dieu Vivant School in Accra, which is the capital city of the West African country of Ghana, and the Afternergo School, which is located in the Ancient Peloponnesian region of Greece in a town called Argos which is 20 minutes from the beach towns of Naplio and Tolo.

The club is in discussions for opportunities in other places such as Puerto Rico, Thailand, and Costa Rica. Further discussions are in place for hard hit areas in parts of the United states.
